BEHAVIORAL HEALTH THERAPIST

Foundations Behavioral Health Services is a community-based behavioral health center serving Mercer County and surrounding areas. Established in 1975, Foundations has been providing professional counseling and support services to local residents for over 40 years. In 2012, the former Gateway Outreach Center merged with Foundations Behavioral Health, allowing us to offer a wide range of mental health and substance use disorder treatment.

 

The behavioral health therapist will provide mental health and substance use assessments, treatment planning, individual and family counseling, crisis intervention services and referrals to other services to clients with behavioral health disorders. The position may be based in an office or community setting with Monday through Friday hours, with one evening per week required. Crisis intervention rotation may be required, for back up on-call only, during work hours, for when our dedicated crisis therapist is unavailable.

 

Minimum of a Bachelors degree with Ohio license is required (LPC, LPCC, LSW, LISW)  Preference will be given to those with a Masters degree and independent license through the Ohio Counselor and Social Worker Board.

RECOVERY SUPPORT COACH

The Recovery Support Coach position is a part-time position that provides flexible, mobile and client centered substance use services to adults and children who have been affected by substance use disorders in individual, family or group settings. Recovery Support Coaches address the individualized substance use and recovery needs of the clients and families, and services vary with respect to hours, type and intensity of services depending upon the changing needs of each client and family. Recovery Support Coaches will provide clients and families with specific, measurable and individualized services with emphasis on the clients’ ability to succeed in the community. Recovery Support Coaches will recognize common symptoms of addictions and ongoing recovery needs. Will work with individuals and/or their family in the natural environment to address specific, individualized goals and interventions and identifies and maximizes natural support systems and linkages to formal community services.

 

This 20 hours per week position will generally work Monday through Friday during the day hours, but will need to have a flexible schedule to meet the needs of the clients and the agency.

 

A minimum of a high school diploma or GED is required along with lived experience and self-identified as being in recovery for at least two years. The individual selected for this position must be willing to complete the Ohio peer recovery support certification within the first six months of hire, although preference will be given to those individuals who have completed the Ohio peer recovery support certification process. Other requirements include empathy for and knowledge of substance use issues, effective verbal and written communication skills, ability to work without direct supervision, valid Ohio Driver’s License, CPR/First Aid certification (may be obtained after hire) and no ongoing criminal activity. Successful candidate must also be willing to submit to and successfully complete fingerprint background check and drug screening.

 

Starting pay is $11.54 to $19.23 per hour, depending on education, license and experience.  Partial benefits package available, including retirement plan (with agency match after 1 year), vacation and sick leave, 12 paid holidays annually and a supportive professional work environment.
